What can an admin, a manager and a crew member do?

What each team role can see and do in Lawnly, so you can invite people with the right access.

Lawnly has three roles. Admins and managers run the business day to day: customers, jobs, the calendar, invoices, payouts and the team. Crew members see only the jobs assigned to them and their time log. You choose the role when you invite someone. In the Team tab, a crew member is labeled Employee.

Admin

An admin can do everything a manager can, and can also invite other admins. The person who created the business is the owner, and the owner cannot be deactivated.

Keep the business's own setup with the owner or an admin: the subscription and card (under Account), and verification, which gets you set up to be paid.

Manager

A manager sees the same dashboard tabs as an admin: Job Board, Private Jobs, Calendar, Customers, Invoices, My Payouts, Messages, Team, Upload, My Counties and Business. Managers can:

  • Charge cards, send invoices and reminders, record payments, and issue refunds.
  • Create, edit, assign, move and reschedule jobs.
  • Build and delete routes, and manage crews on the calendar.
  • Invite crew members and other managers, and edit team members' timecards.

Crew member

On the web, a crew member sees Private Jobs, Time Log and Account, plus Ask Lawnly if your business uses it. In the mobile app they see Private Jobs and Time Log. Private Jobs shows only the jobs assigned to them, and they can start and complete those jobs. They do not see customers, invoices, payouts, the calendar or your business settings.

A job assigned to a crew goes to the crew's lead. See How do I set up crews and assign jobs to them?.

Role settings that change what the crew sees

On the Business tab, under Jobs & crew, "Verify the crew is on site" has a separate switch for admin, manager and crew. The photo requirements apply to whoever starts and completes the job.

Change someone's role

You cannot change someone's role from the Team tab after they join. Email support@lawnly.com with the person's email and the role they need. To add someone new, see How do I add someone to my team?.
