How do I start and complete a job in the app, with photos?
Start a job at the property, add photos if your business asks for them, and mark it complete.
Open the job from your route, pass the location check if your business uses one, add photos if they are required, and choose Start Job. Do the work, add completion photos if required, and choose Complete Job. Your business decides whether photos and the location check are required, so you may not see every step.
Start the job
- Open My Routes, tap your route, then tap the stop. The first time, the phone asks whether Lawnly may use your location; choose While using the app.
- The job screen shows the status Scheduled, the address, and Open in Maps for directions.
- If your business checks location, Location Verification runs. You must be at the property: within 400 feet. If you are not, it says "Location verification failed. You are … feet away from the job site. Please move closer to verify your location", and you can Try Again.
- Upload Photos: if photos are required, it says "At least 3 Images Required" and counts them, for example "Upload at least 3 images to enable the Start Job button (0/3 uploaded)". If they are optional, it says so and you can skip them.
- Choose Start Job. It turns on once the required photos are uploaded and the location check passes. Notify Customer is also there if you want to let the customer know you are on the way.
Photograph the job
Choose Open Camera. The first time, allow Lawnly to use the camera. On Take Job Photos, take each photo with the round button at the bottom, waiting for one to finish before the next. The screen counts them, "3 photos taken, 3 selected". Choose Use 3 to upload them. Back on the job, "Minimum image requirement met" and the photos are shown.
Complete the job
- After starting, the status reads In Progress and the screen says Complete the Job.
- Upload Completion Photos works the same way as start photos, and says whether they are optional or required.
- Choose Complete Job. The status reads Completed: "Job Completed! Great work! This job has been marked as completed. … your admin will be notified."
Back on Route Details the stop shows Completed and the progress bar fills. The office sees "Job started", "photos added" and "Job completed" in their notifications.
After you complete a job
Depending on how your business is set up, the customer may be sent an invoice or charged automatically when the job is completed. That is set by the office, not by you.
