What notifications do I get, and how do I change them?

Where to see your notification feed, and how to choose what Lawnly emails, texts or pushes to you.

Everything that happens in your business appears in your notification feed, and you choose what is also emailed, texted or pushed to your phone. Open the feed from the bell at the top of a tab in the app, or from Notifications on the web. Open Notification Settings to switch channels and topics on or off. Turning a topic off never removes it from the feed.

See your feed

In the app, tap the bell at the top right of a tab. The newest items are first, unread ones are highlighted, and each says what happened and who did it, for example "Job completed for Pat … Completed by Leo." Tap an item to open the job, invoice or customer it is about; it is then marked read. Mark all read clears the unread count, and the refresh button reloads the list. The oldest items are your welcome and setup steps.

On the web, open Notifications. The feed keeps six months of activity, with Load older notifications to go further back.

Choose how Lawnly reaches you

Open Notification Settings: in the app, open the Business tab and choose Notifications; on the web, open Account, then Notifications. Under How to reach you there are three switches:

  • Email: payment, quote and account emails.
  • Text messages: job and schedule texts.
  • Push notifications: alerts on this phone. The web dashboard registers its own browser separately. To get push in the app, also allow notifications for Lawnly in your phone's settings.

On the web you can also set a time zone and the days and hours when email, texts and push are allowed.

Choose what to hear about

Under What to notify me about, "these switches control push and email. Everything still appears in your notification feed."

  • Invoices & payments: invoices created and sent, payments received, failed payments, refunds.
  • Quotes: quotes sent, viewed, accepted, declined, change requests from customers, and cards added.
  • Customer messages: when a customer replies by text.
  • Jobs: job started, completed or cancelled; photos added to a job (collapsed into one notification per job every 10 minutes); notes added. Photos and notes are off for push unless you turn them on.
  • Team: employee clock in and out, and team invites accepted.
  • Account: customer upload complete, and welcome and setup steps.

Who gets business notifications

Business activity goes to owners, admins and managers. Crew members do not have a notification feed in the app.
