How do I set up automatic routes?
Let Lawnly group each day's jobs into routes for you, overnight or on demand with Generate Now.
Open the Business tab and go to Routing & automation. Turn on Build tomorrow's routes overnight and Lawnly groups the next day's jobs into routes once a day. To build routes for a day right away, choose Generate Now.
Build routes overnight
When Build tomorrow's routes overnight is on, you choose:
-
Build them at: the hour, in your business's time zone, when Lawnly builds the routes. Routes appear shortly after that hour. If you pick an hour before 7:00 AM, the routes are for that same day. At 7:00 AM or later, they are for the next day.
-
Ordering strategy:
- Balanced spreads the unassigned jobs across your team.
- Proximity groups nearby jobs to cut driving.
- Keep assignments routes jobs for whoever is already on them.
With every strategy, a job that already has someone on it stays with that person.
-
Include unassigned jobs: this only matters for Keep assignments. Turned off, jobs nobody is on are left out.
-
Max stops per route: from 5 to 30. The default is 15.
Which jobs are included
Jobs on that day (in your business's time zone) that are New or Scheduled, are not on a route yet, and are at an address Lawnly can place on the map. Jobs already on a route are left alone.
Generate routes now
Choose Generate Now. The Generate Routes Now window shows the settings it will use. Pick the Target date and choose Generate Now. Lawnly builds routes for that date's unrouted jobs and tells you how many routes it made and how many jobs it assigned, or that there was nothing to generate.
Generate Now works even when the overnight switch is off, and picking a date does not change your overnight run.
See the results
Open the Private Jobs tab and look at the Routes panel. Routes Lawnly built carry an Auto badge and are named like "Auto Route - 2026-10-15". Use Today, Tomorrow or All Routes to find them. You can edit or delete them like any route. See How do I build a route for the day?.
