How do I build a route for the day?

Group jobs into a route for a crew or teammate, from the Private Jobs tab or the Calendar's Day view.

Pick the jobs, choose who drives, and create the route. You can do this from the Routes panel on the Private Jobs tab, where you tick the jobs yourself, or from the Calendar's Day view, which builds a route from one day's jobs. A route needs at least 2 properties, and only jobs at an address Lawnly can place on the map can join one.

From the Private Jobs tab

  1. In the Routes panel, choose Create Route.
  2. Optional: under Assign to Provider, choose who drives. If you leave it empty, the route and its jobs are assigned to you. Filter by Customer narrows the list.
  3. Enter a Route Name, or choose the Suggested Name.
  4. Tick the jobs to include. Auto-select jobs with a number and Auto Select ticks that many for you, and the search box narrows the list. With fewer than 2 properties ticked, the window says "Select at least 2 properties to create a route."
  5. Choose Create Route.

The list shows every job that is not on a route yet, by address and customer, without its date. A new route is dated today. To run it on another day, choose Edit Route and change the Target Date: every job on the route moves to that date with it (see Move a route to another day).

Lawnly orders the stops to keep the drive short and shows the stop count, miles and minutes. Use Today, Tomorrow and All Routes to find your routes.

From the Calendar's Day view

  1. Open Calendar, choose Day, and go to the day.
  2. Optional: choose Optimize to reorder the stops. It needs at least 2 stops.
  3. Choose Create route. Under Assign route to, pick a crew or a teammate, then choose Create route. The button shows how many stops it will include.

A crew that already has a route that day cannot get a second one. Jobs that belong to another teammate are skipped, and Lawnly tells you how many.

Move a route to another day

Select the route in the Routes panel, choose Edit Route, change the Target Date and choose Save Changes. "Changing the date will update all jobs on this route to the new date": every job moves with the route, so there is no need to move the jobs one by one.

Rename, reassign or delete a route

Select a route in the Routes panel to see its stops, then:

  • Edit Route also changes the Route Name and Assigned To.
  • Delete Route asks you to confirm, then removes the route. The jobs stay, with the same date, ready for another route. A deleted route cannot be brought back.
