How do I measure a lawn's square footage for a quote?
Lawnly outlines the lawn from the address. Adjust it on the map or type the square footage yourself.
When you build a quote and pick the property address, a Square footage section appears under it. Lawnly finds the lawn from the address and totals the mowable area. You can reshape the outline on the satellite map or type the number yourself.
How the area is found
Lawnly first uses a lawn outline already saved for that property. If there is none, it detects the parcel from the address. If it cannot find a boundary, it asks you to outline the lawn with Add mowable.
Adjust the map
The map shows the Lawn boundary, Building, Blocked and Added mowable areas in different colors. Use the buttons above the map:
- Block area draws a part you will not mow, such as a garden bed.
- Add mowable draws extra lawn the boundary missed.
- Undo, Redo and Reset step back through your edits.
- Delete removes the shape you clicked.
Drag a point to reshape a shape. Under the map, the Total mowable area is the lawn boundary, minus buildings, minus blocked areas, plus added areas, and the Perimeter is shown in feet.
Type the number yourself
Choose Edit beside Total mowable area and enter the square feet. It is then marked as manual, and you can switch back to the map's figure.
Show it to the customer or not
Show square footage on the quote decides whether the area appears on the customer's quote and the PDF. When it is off, the customer does not see it, but it is still saved to the property.
The outline is saved to the property with the quote, including a saved draft. The same map is in the property's details, so you can fix it later. See Properties.
