How do I get verified so I can get paid?
Verification links your bank account and confirms your business, so you can send quotes and invoices and charge cards.
Verification is a form where you add your bank account and confirm your business details. Lawnly's payment processor checks them. Until your business is approved, you cannot send quotes or invoices or charge a card. You can still add customers, create jobs, and save quotes and invoices as drafts.
Where to start
- The Set up payments button in the yellow banner at the top of the dashboard.
- Your Account page, under Get Paid: Add Your Bank Account to Get Paid.
- If you try to send a quote or an invoice first, a message says "You're almost ready to get paid", keeps what you made as a draft, and offers Set up payments.
Gather these first
The form's second step lists four things to have in front of you:
- Your driver's license, or a passport or state ID.
- Your EIN letter from the IRS (the CP 575 or 147C letter).
- A voided check or a recent statement from your business checking account.
- Your business formation document, such as LLC articles of organization, a corporation filing or a DBA certificate.
Copy every detail exactly as it appears on these papers; even a small typo holds up approval. The form does not save your place if you leave, so have everything ready before you start.
What the form asks for
After the start and the checklist, you fill in your business details (email, phone, address, and a website or a note that you have none), your legal information (legal name, EIN, business type), your business size, the owners and their personal details, and your bank account. You then upload documents and review everything before you submit.
If a one-time application fee applies to your account, it is paid on a step after the review. The form shows that step only when it applies.
While it is being reviewed
After you submit, Lawnly's payment processor reviews your business. If you try to send something during the review, a message reads "Verification In Progress". Your drafts stay saved.
If more information is needed
The processor can ask for a corrected detail or another document. Your Account page then shows "Additional Information Required" with what to fix, and you send it back from there.
Who does this
Verification is done by the business owner: it asks for the owners' personal details and the business's bank account.
