How do I create a job for a customer?
Create a job from the Private Jobs tab or the Create menu with a customer, service, price and optional date.
Open the Private Jobs tab and choose New Job (or Create Job when you have none yet), or use Create in the sidebar and choose Job. Pick the customer, the service and a price, add a service date if you have one, and choose Create Job. You do not need to be verified to create a job.
What you choose
In the Private Jobs window:
- Customer. Search by name or address, or choose Create Customer to add them in the same window.
- Service Date (optional). A job with a date appears on the Calendar for that day. A job without a date is saved but is not on the Calendar; find it under the customer.
- Recurring Schedule. See below.
- Quoted Price (USD). A job must be at least $20.00.
- Assign To (optional). Pick a team member, or assign the job to yourself.
- Service Type. Lawn Mowing, Leaf Removal, Weed Trimming, Weed Treatment, Gutter Cleaning, Snow Removal or Fertilization.
- Special Instructions (optional). Notes for whoever does the job.
The Create menu's version walks you through two screens: the customer first, then the service, price, date, recurring option and instructions.
Recurring jobs
Turn on Enable recurring schedule, enter how many days apart the visits are, and choose the first service date. Lawnly creates the visits for your whole mowing season at once. If you leave the days blank, it uses your default interval. See Recurring jobs.
Send a quote at the same time
In the Private Jobs window, tick Send Quote Automatically; in the Create menu, choose Create Job & Send Quote. Sending a quote needs a verified business: until then the checkbox is switched off, and the Create menu offers to set up payments while Create Job still works. See Why a quote will not send.
A job already exists that day
If the customer already has a job at that address on the same day, Lawnly shows "Possible duplicate" and asks before creating another. Continue only if you meant to.
New jobs start as New
A new job starts with the status New. See Job statuses.
