What should I do in my first hour with Lawnly?
Add a customer, create a job, and start an invoice, in that order, and know which steps wait for verification.
Add one customer, create one job for them, and start one invoice. You can do all three on day one. Only the last step, sending the invoice, waits until your business is verified.
1. Add a customer
Open Customers and choose Add Customer. Enter their first and last name, an email or a phone number, and their address, then choose Create Customer. If you have no email or phone for someone yet, add them as a lead instead. If you already have a customer list, the Upload tab brings it in from a spreadsheet. Details are in Add a customer and Import your customer list.
2. Create a job
Use the Create button in the sidebar and choose Job. Pick the customer, then choose the service, the price and, if you know it, a service date, and choose Create Job. (You can also start from the Private Jobs tab: Create Job when you have none yet, New Job after that.) A job with a date shows on the Calendar. Without a date it is saved but does not appear on the Calendar. Details are in Create a job.
3. Start an invoice
Open Invoices and choose New invoice. Pick the customer, add the work by typing a service (or choosing a saved one) with its price, and choose Save draft. The draft opens on its own page, where you can edit or send it.
What waits for verification
You can save quotes and invoices before you are verified. Sending a quote, sending an invoice and charging a card all need a verified business. If you try, Lawnly keeps your draft and shows "You're almost ready to get paid" with a Set up payments button. Nothing you typed is lost. See Get verified.
Two things to know
- Your free trial is already running. See How the trial works.
- Quotes, invoices and charging cards are for owners and managers. Crew members see only the work assigned to them.
