How do recurring jobs work, and how is the next date set?

A recurring job repeats every set number of days. Lawnly creates the season's visits up front. Learn how to change or stop them.

A recurring job repeats every set number of days. When you create it, Lawnly adds every visit for the season as its own job, spaced from the first service date. Finishing a visit early or late does not move the others.

Set one up

When you create a job, turn on Enable recurring schedule, enter how many days between visits, and choose a first service date.

If you leave the days blank, Lawnly uses your default: Business tab, Jobs & crew, Default days between recurring jobs ("Used when a recurring job does not specify its own interval"). It offers Every Week, Bi-Weekly, Tri-Weekly and Monthly, or any number of days.

The season

Visits are created only inside your season. Set Mowing season starts and Mowing season ends under the Business tab, Season. A new business's season is the whole calendar year, so a weekly job started in October gets visits through late December.

Change the schedule

Open any visit from the Private Jobs tab. Its details show Recurring: Every _ days with Save. Lawnly replaces the series' open future visits (New or Scheduled, from that visit's date on) with new ones at the new interval. Turning recurring off removes the future visits and keeps this one.

To change the price, edit it and tick Apply to future jobs in this recurring series: New and Scheduled visits from that date on are updated.

Missed visits

Overnight, a visit that was not finished on its day moves to the next day. The Calendar marks it as rolled forward, and "Clear schedule" can pick out just those visits.

Stop a series

On the Calendar's week view, choose Manage jobs on that day, select the visit, and choose Delete, then "Entire series — also removes every upcoming visit and stops the recurrence". To clear many days at once, see Clear a day or a range.
