What does Lawnly charge to process a card payment on my invoices?
The processing fee on card payments for your own invoices, where it shows, and when there is none.
When a customer pays one of your invoices by card, Lawnly takes a processing fee, currently 2.8%, out of what you receive. You see it on the invoice before you charge and again after it is paid, so the amount that reaches your bank is never a surprise.
Where you see it
The invoice form's Totals and the charge window show:
- Customer pays (or Customer owes): what the customer pays, including sales tax.
- Card processing (2.8%): the fee, shown as a negative amount.
- You receive (or You would receive): what goes toward your deposit. After the invoice is paid, the invoice shows You received.
The fee is worked out on the services after any discount, not on the sales tax. For example, on $54.00 of services plus $4.46 tax, the fee is $1.51 and you receive $56.95.
When there is no fee
There is no processing fee on money you record yourself, such as a check, cash or bank transfer, because Lawnly did not process it. See How do I record a check or cash payment?. Those payments also stay out of your deposits.
Part payments and refunds
If a customer pays an invoice in more than one go, each card payment carries the fee on its own amount. When you refund a card payment, the fee on the refunded amount is returned to you.
How it reaches your bank
On the My Payouts tab, open a deposit's Details to see the card processing taken from that batch and the amount deposited. See When does money from my invoices reach my bank?.
What this does not cover
Jobs from the Public Job Board have different fees. Your Lawnly plan and its price are covered in Your 14-day trial and the Lawnly plan.
